PHYSICAL THERAPIST
OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and rehabilitation, utilizing their expertise to help individuals regain mobility and improve their quality of life. This role involves working with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, orthopedics, women's health and more in outpatient setting. We are looking for a devoted, friendly, and team player to join our group of talented physical therapist.

DUTIES:

Conduct comprehensive evaluations and examinations of patients to assess their physical abilities and limitations.

Develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals. We do use Prompt EMR that has templates to speed the documentation time, however these can also be customized for each patient.

Implement treatment programs that may include physical therapy modalities, exercises, and manual therapy techniques.

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery based on reevaluations and progress notes.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care in the office, including discharge planning for patients transitioning out of acute care settings.

Contributes to teamwork, consistently offering assistance, and responding positively to requests for assistance. Collaborates to foster healthy relationships in the work environment. Offers guidance to interprofessional health care team, when appropriate, accepts feedback with positive attitude and applies feedback to improve patient outcomes.

Uses therapeutic communication, which includes active listening and teaching, to establish a relationship with patients and families.

Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, rehabilitation techniques, and home exercise programs.

Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards. Including correct billing times, units, and codes per insurance.

Complete training of the company policies, expected therapist role, and physical therapy review with Lead DPT prior to seeing patients individually.

Teaches and provides guidance to physical therapy assistants, and support staff. Uses peer-to-peer accountability towards improvement of department efficiency for employee engagement.

Proactively identifies opportunities for corrective action and assists in process improvement by providing recommendations and contributes to meeting department and office targeted goals for quality and safety. Identifies areas of practice improvements with research-based evidence and assists in development of treatment protocols and best practice for certain population or practice area to achieve patient safety outcomes, supported by accurate documentation.

Seeks opportunities to identify self-development needs and expand learning beyond baseline competencies with a focus on continual development as a Physical Therapist, taking appropriate action. Ensures own career discussions occur with appropriate management.

SKILLS:
-
Proficient in physical therapy techniques with a strong foundation in anatomy knowledge and physiology.

Experience or knowledge in orthopedics, sports medicine, and women's health is highly desirable.

Familiarity with surgical patients and the ability to develop effective care plans based on protocols, precautions, and contraindications.

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism in all patient interactions.

Critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and modify treatment approaches accordingly.
-
Spanish speaker welcome to apply however must be fluent in English reading, writing, and speaking.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
-
Degree in Physical Therapy (Doctorate preferred)

WORK EXPERIENCE
-
One-Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist preferred
-
Women's Health experience or ability to learn pelvic floor therapy preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) AND
-
PT - Physical Therapist - State Licensure -- with the Texas Board of Examiners. Compact license acceptable according to current ECPTOTE requirements within 90 days OR

PT-Temp - Physical Therapist Temporary - State Licensure -- with the Texas Board of Examiners. Compact license acceptable according to current ECPTOTE requirements within 90 days
